The 8th CAA International Conference on Vehicular Control and Intelligence kicked off in Chongqing from October 25th to 27th, aiming to bring together top scholars and industry elites in the field of vehicle control and intelligence at home and abroad to discuss the latest progress and future development trend of vehicle control and intelligence technology, and to promote industry-university-research co-operation and talent cultivation in related fields.

The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Lan Zhangli, Deputy Dean of the Information Science and Engineering School of CQJTU. Zhang Ming, Vice President of CQJTU, delivered a welcome speech, welcoming all the domestic and foreign experts, scholars and industry representatives. Professor Chen Hong, Director of Vehicle Control and Intelligence Committee of Chinese Society of Automation and Tongji University, made an opening speech.

During the three-day conference, several scholars gave wonderful presentations. In addition, 3 pre-conference forums, 2 distinguished scholars forums, 2 industrial forums and 2 young scholars forums were set up in the conference, focusing on the modelling and control of transportation systems, rail transportation, automatic driving and transportation infrastructure. The conference also set up 180 oral presentations, 110 poster presentations and so on.

This conference not only promotes the dissemination and discussion of cutting-edge technologies in the field of vehicle control and intelligence, but also builds a broad bridge of cooperation between scholars at home and abroad. Through a series of rich and diversified exchange activities, it not only deepens the participants' understanding of key areas, but also promotes the technological innovation and theoretical development in related fields.

As the organiser of the conference, Chongqing Jiaotong University did a lot of detailed and characteristic work for the preparation and organisation of the conference, which was unanimously praised by the expert committee and the participating experts and scholars. Through the hosting of this conference, the university has not only accumulated valuable experience in the organisation of international academic conferences, but also further enhanced its own academic influence, laying a solid foundation for attracting more high-level talents and international cooperation projects in the future.
