【Golden Season for International Exchanges】Prof. PANAVY, President of Mahanakorn University of Technology, Thailand, and his delegation visited Chongqing Jiaotong University

On the morning of October 29th, 2024, Prof. Panavy Pookaiyaudom, President of Mahanakorn University of Technology, Prof. Vissanu Meeyoo, Vice President, and their Chinese partner of university-enterprise cooperation, Mr. Li Qinzhi visited the university. Zhang Ming, Vice President of Chongqing Jiaotong University, met with the guests in Conference Room 310 of Mingde Building on Nanan Campus, and the directors of International Office, Graduate School, Academic Affairs Office, Science and Technology Office, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, and School of International Education took part in the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Xu Houzhi, Deputy Director of International Office of Chongqing Jiaotong University.

Vice President Zhang Ming firstly expressed his warm welcome to the president Panavy Pookaiyaudom and his delegation of Mahanakorn University of Technology, and introduced the basic situation of the university in terms of history, disciplines and specialties, and scientific and technological innovation, etc. He said that the friendship between China and Thailand has lasted for thousands of years and the people are like brothers. Zhang Ming said that China and Thailand have been friendly for thousands of years and their people are like brothers and sisters. It is believed that through this exchange, both sides can find a good mode of cooperation, which will promote the comprehensive cooperation and exchange between the two universities in the fields of talent cultivation, exchange of visits between teachers and students, and cooperation in scientific research, and make a new contribution to the connecting of people’ hearts in the field of education between China and Thailand. Mao Mingyong, Director of International Office of Chongqing Jiaotong University, highlighted the international cooperation and exchange situation of the university and said that the university has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 universities and research institutes in more than 30 countries, and has carried out substantive cooperation with many universities in Thailand in the fields of leadership exchange visits, talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and cooperative scientific research. Zhao Shu'en, Dean of the School of Mechanical, Electrical, and Vehicle Engineering, introduced the overview of the school, professional construction and international exchanges, and suggested that the two universities focus on the joint cultivation of intelligent automobile talents to carry out cooperation.

President Panavy Pookaiyaudom introduced the basic situation of Mahanakorn University of Technology from the aspects of scientific research development and achievements, discipline construction, student training, international exchanges, etc., and pointed out that Mahanakorn University of Technology and Chongqing Jiaotong University were highly compatible in terms of disciplines and specialties. He hoped to establish a friendly relationship with Chongqing Jiaotong University through the visit to promote all-round cooperation and exchanges between the two universities.





 

During the meeting, both sides also had in-depth discussions on student exchange, talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation. Finally, Vice President Zhang Ming and President Panavy signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two universities respectively, laying a good foundation for the next step of substantive cooperation projects between the two sides.
